MESSAGE FOR THE ISL WEBSITE FROM THE CHAIR OF THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS
August 2009
Have you ever traveled with a child and heard the question "when will we get there?"; barely eaten breakfast and the question is "what are we going to do today?"; just entered one class and he or she is planning for the next year; measuring their height, they can hardly wait until they have grown the next five centimeter? To live with children and youth is to celebrate (and sometimes struggle with) their relentless and incredible orientation towards the future, both by the minute and by the year.
School is a place that celebrates and joins the child or youth in their focus on the future. A good school will build on the young person's natural curiosity, energy and enthusiasm. It will be working to develop skills of self-discipline, inquiry and communication that ensures their future is entered into with confidence and an assurance of success.
The International School of Lusaka is just that kind of school - a school with a solid history, but more importantly, a school oriented to the future and dedicated to equipping its' students with the best education possible, where their hopes and dreams are nurtured and given every chance of being realized.
Your child deserves just that kind of opportunity!
